This year marks the centenary of the birth of Xavier Montsalvatge, and Joaquín Achúcarro will play two works by the Catalan composer, including the Siciliana Montsalvatge dedicated to him as a pianist. There follow pieces by Frederic Mompou, another great figure in Catalan music, and important works by Debussy and Schumann. Achúcarro has performed at Torroella every year of the last twenty-seven, and tonight he will give us yet another unforgettable experience
