Center for creation and musical residencies

Since its founding in 1980, the Torroella Festival has established itself as a key driver in identifying talent and in the recovery, creation, reflection, and promotion of Europe’s musical heritage. Throughout its trajectory, it has become a reference in deepening and specializing in musical training, as well as in the projection of artists who are now internationally recognized figures. Moreover, the Festival serves as a creativity hub for sharing and transforming arttistic processes, providing an ideal framework for career development, tour preparation, new programs, and recordings.

In this context of collaboration and creation, the Torroella Festival reaffirms its commitment to promoting new talents through the EEEmerging project, a large-scale European cooperation program that fosters the emergence of young performers by focusing on selection, training, and promotion in the field of early music. Since its beginnings, it has evolved into 'EEEmerging+' and is currently known as Sustainable-EEEMERGING (S-EEE), a project addressing economic, ecological, and ethical sustainability, while preserving the environment and the well-being of artists.

Since 2019, Joventuts Musicals de Torroella has been part of this European network as a leading partner, contributing to the growth of emerging ensembles through artistic residencies, activities, concerts, and workshops. Furthermore, it promotes innovation and collaboration with other sector agents, involving both professionals and audiences interested in early music. Thus, the Torroella Festival not only contributes to Europe's musical heritage but also fosters dialogue and cultural mediation, highlighting the value of early music in the contemporary scene.

The Sustainable-EEEMERGING project is supported by the Creative Europe program, within the framework of the European Commission, which aims to boost the cultural and audiovisual sectors. In addition, the project receives support from the Banc Sabadell Foundation, the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and the Diputació de Girona, which collaborate with Joventuts Musicals de Torroella within the framework of this program.
