Soul, funk and rhythm & blues are the raw material of this group led by Monique Makon, a talented singer who moves with ease around the different registers of black music. Makon was discovered at the Casal de Joves in Roquetes and was awarded a grant from the Taller de Músics in its Cabal Musical support programme. In her performances, classics by Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone, and modern themes by Amy Winehouse take on a new dimension.
