Schubert: String quartet no. 12 in C minor “Quartettsatz” / Ligeti: String quartet no. 1 «Métamorphoses nocturnes» / Beethoven: String quartet no. 15 in A minor, Op. 132

In just five years of existence, the Cosmos Quartet has achieved wide recognition, winning first prize at the Irene Steels-Wilsing Foundation Competition in Heidelberg in 2018, and also the 13th BBVA Montserrat Alavedra Chamber Music Prize. For their first concert at the Torroella Festival, they will perform an ambitious programme which includes Schubert’s unfinished Quartettsatz, Ligeti’s first quartet, and one of Beethoven’s sublime late works in the genre, his Opus 132.
