Directed by Andreas Koefoed and Jorgen Leth| 2022 | Denmark | 92 minutes
Through some of the most influential jazz musicians of our time, including Bill Frisell, Lee Konitz, Midori Takada and many others, the documentary provides answers to what it means to be a person who has expressed himself through music throughout his life. Over the last 14 years, the directors of the documentary have followed Danish composer and guitarist Jakob Bro, witnessing his musical encounters with acclaimed and eccentric musicians of different generations and nationalities. Through Bro's compositions, the characters in the documentary explore the space of music and, in doing so, answer some of the questions raised by the film. What does it feel like when playing? What does listening mean? As existential questions are posed to the musicians, pauses follow. Is it possible to put the emotions of music into words?
