The young, talented Russian pianist Gaidar Beskembirov graduated in 2014 at the State Conservatoire at Kazan, the Tatar capital, and has followed an advanced course of study at the Freiburg Hochschule wIth the French pianist, Eric Le Sage. Beskembirov has been awarded many prizes, the last being the Arthur Lepthien Piano Competition in 2017. For his visit to the Fringe Festival Torroella de Montgrí-L'Estartit he will offer two virtuoso programmes, the first with a sonata from Haydn and the Symphonic Etudes from Schumann, and the second with two Fantasies, Chopin’s Op. 49 and Schumann’s Op. 17. The last movement of the Schumann is considered to be one of the high points of Romantic music.
