Xabier Gullón, clarinet | Paula Sánchez, cello | Alba Llorach, piano
Beethoven: Trio no. 4 in B flat major, Op. 11 / Brahms: Trio for clarinet, cello and piano in A minor, Op. 114 / Daniel Schnyder: Worlds Beyond Suite (selection)
The Trio Blanchard was founded in 2017 at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona, tutored by the clarinettist Isaac Rodríguez. The members of the trio have come together thanks to the sponsorship of the Fundació de Música Ferrer Salat, which awarded them scholarships during their time as students. They have performed at many official events and in June will give the first performance of a work by the British composer Geoffrey King, the result of a joint project with the Royal Academy of Music in London. The programme of their concert at the Fringe Festival Torroella de Montgrí-L'Estartit consists of two classical trios by Beethoven and Brahms, and a selection from the Worlds Beyond Suite by the Swiss composer Daniel Schnyder, strongly influenced by jazz.
