Mozart began to travel from a very early age and his works reflect the influences of his travel experiences, the composers he knew and the music he listened to wherever he went. In 1764, when he was 8 years old and had gone to London with the whole Mozart family, he met Johann Christian Bach, the youngest son of Johann Sebastian Bach. This first contact of the young Mozart with Bach's work influenced him to the point of crystallising later in some of his works in which the counterpoint becomes the central element. On its return to the Torroella de Montgrí Festival, the Freiburger Barockorchester presents a Mozart programme that covers a decade of his work, from 1774 to 1784, with a symphony, two fortepiano concertos and Johann Christian Bach as guest.
