Joaquín Achúcarro confesses that he is a piano addict and we at the Torroella de Montgrí Festival confess that we have been Joaquín Achúcarro addicts since his debut at the Festival in the summer of 1990. In this 44^th edition, he returns to offer us Grieg's Concerto for Piano in A Minor, "Uncle Edvard’s Concerto", as Achúcarro calls the work of the Norwegian composer, who was a cousin of his grandmother. Joaquín Achúcarro will be accompanied by the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, conducted by Virginia Martínez, who will open the programme with the sardana for orchestra Empúries by Toldrà, followed by the suite of Pelléas et Mélisande, which Fauré wrote for the play of the same name by the Belgian symbolist Maurice Maeterlinck.
