Arcangelo Corelli: Concerto da chiesa in D major, Op. 6/7 / Concerto da chiesa in G minor, Op. 6/8 "Fatto per la Notte di Natale" / Concerto da chiesa in C minor, Op. 6/3 / Concerto da chiesa in D major, Op. 6/4 / Georg Friedrich Händel: Concerto grosso in A minor, Op. 6/4 / Concerto grosso in A major, Op. 6/11
Throughout his career, Arcangelo Corelli mingled with the most important composers of his time. These encounters were a source of inspiration and many influences that produced a very personal style. Most of Corelli's works quickly became models copied countless times by others. Although Corelli did not create any new genre, nor did he bring any specific innovation to violin technique, he did write sonatas and concerti grossi so formally perfect that his works permeated the entire European orchestral discourse for decades. The programme presented by Amandine Beyer with her group Gli Incogniti creates a mirror in which the works of Corelli and Händel, whom the Italian met at the end of his life, are reflected in each other. Händel, one of the most influential composers of his time, like many others, had grown musically on the lessons of Corelli, "the bread of life" of all musicians, according to the famous biographer and dilettante Roger North.
