In her debut at the Torroella de Montgrí Festival, the Caribbean soprano Jeanine De Bique presents a programme based on her first recording, Mirrors, which explores the arias composed by Händel and his contemporaries for heroines such as Cleopatra, Rodelinda, Alcina and Agrippina. By combining and juxtaposing the most famous arias, written by Händel, with those composed by his contemporaries for the same heroines, we discover the depth and many-sidedness of these characters' nature, even when they were written from the same libretto.
