After studying music in Barcelona, Amsterdam and New York, the young trombonist Alba Pujals has revealed herself as one of Catalonia's outstanding emerging jazz players. Both a performer and a composer, she debuts at the Jazz Festival l'Estartit in quintet format to present her first album, Apologia, recorded between October 2020 and May 2021 in Barcelona and New York. The trumpet player Joan Mar Sauqué, a former student of the Municipal School of Music of Torroella de Montgrí, who performed for the first time at the Festival in 2016, accompanies Alba Pujals in her debut at the Jazz Festival l'Estartit.
