Winner of two Grammys, Kurt Elling is one of the great jazz singers of the moment. During the pandemic, he and his long-time friend, the guitarist Charlie Hunter, a great adventurer in guitar sound research, worked to release the 2021 album SuperBlue, in which they explore a sophisticated funk and soul sound in a series of new songs and innovative versions of compositions by Wayne Shorter, Freddie Hubbard or Cody Chesnutt. At the end of the winter, Kurt Elling previewed six tracks from the follow-up to SuperBlue, Guilty Pleasures, which is scheduled for release this autumn.
