Cohaere Ensemble was founded in 2019 in the Polish city of Katowice by Marta Korbel, Natalia Olczak and Monika Hartmann, who were studying at the Harpsichord and Historical Performance Practice Department. Marta Gawlas joined the group in February 2021. The group's objective is to reconstruct Renaissance and Baroque music in a way that would give authenticity. The group plays on period instruments or contemporary copies of period instruments. They have prepared a programme of French-style Baroque music for their presentation at the Fringe Festival Torroella-L'Estartit. Cohaere Ensemble are on a musical residence in Torroella as part of the EEEmerging+ programme, which also includes the Torroella Festival.
