Formed in 2017 within the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, the Trío Albéniz has won awards in several chamber music competitions and has also won the Emergent Ensemble 2022 award given by the Spanish Association of Classical Music Festivals, Festclásica, which will enable them to perform at some of the top Spanish festivals. In Torroella, they present the programme Rebirth of the Phoenix, which draws parallels between the eternal resurrection of the phoenix and the artist's constant search for identity, giving form to a being that is reborn stronger and wiser. They do this with a trio from Turina's youth and another work from his mature years, a trio by Ravel, who Turina admired, and a work from the late 20th century.
