Marta Korbel, violin | Marta Gawlas, flute | Monika Hartmann, cello | Natalia Olczak, harpsichord
Cohaere Ensemble was created in 2019 in Katowice (Poland) by three students studying in the Harpsichord and Historical Performance Practice Department: Marta Korbel, Natalia Olczak and Monika Hartmann. With the addition of Marta Gawlas in February 2021, the group's members are young people who take a fresh approach to historically informed performance while still heeding the rules written centuries ago. The group's goal is to reconstruct Renaissance and Baroque music in a manner that is authentic and put the emphasis on historical authenticity, playing either period instruments or contemporary copies of period instruments.
Cohaere Ensemble won the 2021 International Early Music Competition in Loire Valley; the 2020 OPEN CALLO M?oda Muzyka Dawna [Young Early Music] organised by the Young Early Music Festival; first prize and the Professor O. Steineberg and Professor A. Livont special prize at the 20th International Competition "Music Without Limits"; first prize in the chamber music category of the 4th Odin International Music Online Competition; and first prize in the 2021 Baroque Music Competition organised by the Charleston International Music Competition.
Cohaere Ensemble is taking part in projects such as the Kromer Festival Biecz, the Arte dei Suonatori orchestra and Musiques Baroques à Savennières.
