BIEL BALLESTER TRIO feat THOMAS KRETZSCHMAR
Biel Ballester, lead guitar | Fran Asensio, rhythm guitar | Oriol González, double bass | Thomas Kretzschmar, violin
Jazz manouche or gypsy jazz is a style of swing created in the 1930s by the Belgian guitarist Django Reinhardt, influenced by American jazz and with the complicity of the violinist Stéphane Grappelli. In this concert, the Majorcan Biel Ballester, who has excelled as a brilliant jazz manouche player, brings his Mediterranean touch to the style. With his trio, he invites the French violinist Thomas Kretzschmar, a keen admirer of Grappelli, to open the 7th Jazz Festival l'Estartit with a thrilling evening of jazz manouche.
