The Malian kora and mandinka harp virtuoso Ballaké Sissoko and the French cellist and bass player Vincent Ségal are separated by a sea and a continent. However, their immense curiosity brought them together and they embarked upon a series of musical dialogues that, in 2009, bore fruit in their first joint recording, Chamber Music, an album that transcends musical frontiers and was acclaimed around the world. More than 200 concerts later, Sissoko and Ségal made magic again in 2015 with their second album, Musique de nuit, that once again took them beyond their respective Mandinka, Baroque, jazz, Brazilian cultures ..., in a noble, calm, profound, joyous, uplifting dialogue that illuminates a music that bursts forth from the soul.
