Returning to the Torroella Festival, the countertenor Philippe Jaroussky again presents a programme with a repertoire that moves away from the works written for high male voices, which gives him considerable freedom in his musical register. In fact, he is credited with opening the countertenor repertoire to periods other than the Baroque. Accompanied on the guitar by Thibaut Garcia, Philippe Jaroussky’s programme encompasses five centuries, from Dowland to Britten and Barbara and including Mozart, Rossini, Granados and Fauré. New musical landscapes to bring out the countertenor’s vocal range.
