Brahms: Piano quartet no. 1 in G minor, Op. 25 / Schubert: Piano quintet in A major, “The Trout”, D. 667
The Brahms Project brings together four outstanding Spanish musicians, the violinist Josep Colomé, the viola player Joaquín Riquelme, the cellist David Apellániz and the pianist Enrique Bagaría. In addition to their careers as soloists, these artists come together to perform chamber music, having recorded Brahms’ complete piano quartets, the first of which they will play in this concert at Torroella. For the second part of the concert, they have invited the excellent young double bass player from Galicia, Uxía Martínez, to join them in one of Schubert’s great chamber works – the “Trout” Quintet.
