About this event

The Trio Athenea was founded in 2016 and is the chamber ensemble with which Alba Ramírez, Glòria Expósito and Carolina Santiago complete their advanced studies in classical and contemporary music at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu. The trio play both the classical repertoire of piano trios and less frequently performed chamber works. They promote equality of gender in art and music by making known works by female composers such as Rebecca Clarke (UK, 1886-1979), whose Piano Trio they perform at this Fringe concert. The Trio Athenea comes to the Fringe Festival Torroella-L'Estartit with the viola player Gabriel Torner, with whom they will give the first performance of The Descent, by the young Catalan composer, Sergi Puig.
