About this event

Now and again an artist appears who makes use of a multitude of sources to create something new and independent of the past. Kandance Springs is one of these artists – the young singer, pianist and composer from Nashville who captivated Prince with her mix of soul and R&B. Prince chose her to join him in the 30th anniversary concert of Purple Rain in Minneapolis. In Soul Eyes, her first album on the Blue Note label, she performs original themes and versions of Mal Waldron’s Soul Eyes and the group War’s The World is a Ghetto.
