Brahms: Trio no. 1 in B major for violin, cello and piano, Op. 8

About this event

Brahms was an excellent pianist and his knowledge of the instrument, his masterly technique and his inventive powers caused his chamber works with piano to be unrivalled in his time. The Trio Jakob will perform Brahms’ first piano trio, composed between 1853 and 1854, when the composer was 20 years old – an early work which he revised forty years later, in 1889, without losing any of its original youthful character.
