About this event

Joaquín Achúcarro’s concert this year at the Torroella Festival includes a tribute to Enric Granados in the centenary year of the composer’s death. Achúcarro will play three pieces from Granados’ suite Goyescas, a masterwork of the piano repertoire. Preludes by Gershwin and Rachmaninov will serve as an introduction to another towering masterpiece which only the best pianists can attempt – Ravel’s Gaspard de la nuit, a work noted for its Oriental touches and brimming with sensuality.
