Les Goûts Réunis is the title of a collection of 10 concerti published in 1724 by François Couperin. In these works, the composer combines French and Italian styles of composition. Jordi Savall has chosen the same title for an attractive programme that covers a hundred years of French baroque compositions, whose subtle, refined style contrasts with the passionate, extrovert Italian music of the period – music that despite strong initial reservations came to be accepted in France to form the Goûts Réunis – “combination of musical tastes”.
