About this event

For his first visit to the Torroella Festival, the renowned Russian pianist, Alexei Volodin, has chosen a programme of great works from the Romantic period – Schubert’s last sonata, the beautiful Ballade no. 3 by Chopin and Schumann’s Carnaval, a collection of 22 short pieces in which the composer imagines himself with a group of friends, one of whom is Chopin, together with characters from the commedia dell’arte at a masked ball.
