Camerata Salzburg was founded in 1952 and is one of the oldest chamber orchestras in Europe. The orchestra has forged its international reputation by combining high performance standards with enthusiastic, virtuoso interpretations. For their return to the Torroella Festival, where they first played in 2007, Mozart will feature in a programme made up mainly of dance music – folk dances in a transcription by Bartók and waltzes seen through the spectrum of arrangements made by the masters of Viennese atonality, Schönberg, Berg and Webern.
