About this event

The excellent Akademie für Alte Musik is one of the greatest orchestras specialising in early music. They will bring us a feast of Italian works of the baroque composed by Venetian composers, with Vivaldi and the oboe playing a leading part. In the years around 1700, the oboe was to take on a rôle of great importance in performance of Italian music, and Venetian composers wrote a considerable number of concerti for the instrument.
