About this event

Italian opera came to Catalonia with the arrival of Archduke Charles of Austria. Works by Antonio Caldara, Emanuele Rincon d’Astorga or Andrea Stefano Fiore were performed at the Archduke’s lavish court in Barcelona. The Acadèmia 1750, the Torroella Festival’s own baroque orchestra, inaugurates this year’s festival with extracts from works performed 300 years ago in Barcelona.

Torroella de Montgrí Festival production.

Concert in commemoration of the tricentenary of 1714.
