About this event

PaGAGnini makes use of the virtuoso playing of four great artists led by the violinist Ara Malikian – Lebanese of Armenian descent – to combine some of the most well-known themes of classical music with other musical genres. The result is a novel and enjoyable dis-concert, which reinvents the concept of the traditional concert and its means of communicating with the public. The audience will discover a totally new approach to the tunes played. In 2008, the newspaper Three Weeks awarded PaGAGnini the prize for the best Fringe performance at the Edinburgh Festival, and that same year the production also received the Audience Prize at the Chiclana Theatre Festival (province of Cádiz). In 2009 they won the Moerser Comedy Preis at the International Comedy Arts Festival at Moers, Germany, and also the award for the best musical performance at the Teatro de Rojas, Toledo.
