About this event
Bach’s concerti for one, two and three violins form part of the habitual repertoire of the renowned Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. The orchestra returns to the Torroella Festival this summer to perform four of these works, which they have also recorded on their latest Harmonia Mundi CD, released last March. The concerti BWV 1041-1043, composed c. 1720, are wellknown works, but the programme also includes the concerto for three violins, BWV 1064 which has been reconstructed from the extant version for three harpsichords. As well as the Bach concerti, the concert will include two works by Vivaldi, a composer whom J. S. Bach held in high esteen.
