Elisabeth Leonskaja is one of the greatest present-day exponents of the Russian school of pianists and the great Sviatoslav Richter considered her to be his artistic heir. For her first visit to the Torroella Festival, Leonskaja will perform a programme of sonatas which range from the classicism of Mozart and the Romantic style of Beethoven to her dazzling performance of the virtuoso Grand Sonata of Tchaikovsky.
