About this event

The founding in 2006 of the Festival’s own baroque orchestra, now called the Acadèmia 1750, was a milestone in the development of music in Torroella. This year we have decided to give this orchestra enhanced importance, as it will be the Festival’s Principal Guest Artist and has been entrusted with the historic opening concert in the new Espai Ter concert hall. With soprano Núria Rial, countertenor Xavier Sabata and conductor Enrico Onofri, the Acadèmia 1750 will perform a programme that includes some of the best bravura arias and duets from operas composed by Handel and Vivaldi.
