Amandine Beyer returns to the Torroella de Montgrí Festival with the Kitgut Quartet, a chamber ensemble formed in 2015 under her leadership with which she explores the beginnings of the string quartet while tracing the attempts to write for four instruments prior to Classicism. The programme they present includes a masterpiece by Haydn, Quartet No. 55 in D major, Op. 71/2, written in Vienna in 1793 after returning from a period in London, together with works by English composers from the second half of the 17th century.
