The Baroque replaces imitation of the classics with invention, dramatisation, ingenuity, the capacity to dazzle. The world upside-down, together with the folly of the world and the image of the theatre of the world, sum up the Baroque period's vision of the world. The violinist Amandine Beyer and her group Gli Incogniti return to the Torroella Festival to present to the public, for the first time, the programme of the next album that they will record in Torroella de Montgrí, Il mondo al rovescio (The world upside-down), a journey through Vivaldi at his most playful, ironic, outlandish and perverse. Drawing from the typical fantasy of 18th-century Baroque illuminist thought, he deliberately upset the established order in some of his concertos, turning the world upside down with an inventive visual and musical game that opens unexpected doors to the mystery of sounds.
