2010 is the bicentenary of the births of Chopin and Schumann, and the Basque pianist, Joaquín Achúcarro, has prepared a programme consisting of major works by these two composers. From the mysterious invocations of Chopin's Nocturnes to the dialectic between a world of dreams and the necessity for action present in Schumann's monumental Fantasy, tonight's recital is an invitation to enter the most intimate world of Romanticism, through the works of the two most famous poets of the piano in the history of Western music.
