Danubia Orchestra Obuda | Alexis Soriano, director | Serguei Krilov, violin
E. Rincón: * El noveno día de la creación / L.V. Beethoven: Experience and Work in Rincón, Beethoven and Schumann / R. Schumann: Symphony n. 3, op. 97, «Renana»
Beethoven's Violin Concerto, Op. 61, was first performed in 1806 and was little appreciated during the composer's lifetime. It wasn't until 1844 that Joseph Joachim, 13 years of age at the time, revived the work, accompanied by an orchestra conducted by Felix Mendelssohn, and the concerto began to be considered one of the most important works composed for the instrument. The first performance of Schumann's Rhenish Symphony could not have been more different, as the work soon became the most popular of the four symphonies composed by one of German romanticism's greatest exponents. The program will begin with Eduardo Rincón's Ninth Day of Creation, inspired by the aesthetic reaction of the composer to the mural paintings of Jesús Mateo in the church of Saint John the Baptist, Alarcón (Cuenca province). In this concert the Alexis Soriano will direct one of Hungary's greatest orchestras. Soriano's talent has been officially recognised by Valery Gergiev.
