The Pla i Agustí brothers, (Joan Baptista, Josep and Manuel) were three of the most famous oboists of the second half of the 18th century and also composed their own works. Legend has it that Handel asked them to perform in his orchestra. Today's concert will include the first performance in modern times of Josep and Joan Baptista Pla's C major Concerto for oboe, two horns, strings and continuo, recently discovered in the Czech Republic. Two suites from the famous Water Music will complete this imaginary meeting between Handel and the Pla brothers.
