In 2007, La Caravaggia were awarded the Audience Prize at the Antwerp Early Music Competition, and are now one of the most promising young ensembles active in Catalonia. We will see this in their performance of today's programme, based on the figure of Tarquinio Merula, one of the most gifted composers of his time. It is impossible not to be captivated by the beauty of Merula's melodies when they are sung by an artist of the quality of Marta Infante.
