Josep Gimeno i Montell was born in 1962 in Xàtiva, and has become an idol for folk music enthusiasts. His following has increased steadily over the years, and he has been highly praised for his magnetism, authenticity, innate charisma and natural spontaneity. These qualities have made him one of the best Valencian cantaors active today.
