The Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK, founded in 1934 for the performance of film music, is now one of the greatest riches of musical life in the Czech Republic. Salvador Brotons Will conduct the orchestra in a work of his own composition that has been commissioned by the Festival, and Petr Vronsky, awarded the Herbert von Karajan Conducting Prize in Berlin in 1973, Will direct two of Haydn's bestknown orchestral works. The trumpeter in the concerto, Mireia Farrés, is a young Catalan musician who receives regular invitations to play as soloist from a variety of different orchestras.
