Artur Blasco was awarded the Catalan Government National Prize for Popular Culture in 2004 and played a leading part in the rediscovery of the diatonic accordion in the Pyrenean regions after the instrument had fallen into disuse between 1939 and 1976. He is also the moving force behind the famous Accordion Festival at Arsàguel, and has carried out extensive field work leading to the rediscovery of over 2,000 songs and some 200 instrumental pieces from the Pyrenean regions of Lleida and Girona provinces. This concert Will bring us into contact with a heritage which without Blasco's work of rediscovery would have been lost for posterity.
